Description
Hydrochina is a Chinese state-owned engineering company set up in 2002, involved in hydropower, wind power and solar power projects in China and overseas. In 2011, it came under the Power Construction Corporation of China (Powerchina).
During a visit of Vice-President Xi Jinping to Naypyidaw in December 2009, Hydrochina signed an MOU with the Burmese military regime’s Ministry of Electric Power to build the Naung Pha dam on the Salween River and the Mantong dam on the Nam Ma tributary of the Salween.
